And You Were Worried About Egypt

I can not imagine why people were so worried about how things would go in Egypt now that Mubarak is gone. To prove my point the Muslim Brotherhood (you remember the Muslim Brotherhood? They were the guys that, during the demonstrations calling for Mubarak to resign, promised a worried Military that they had no intention of getting involved in politics -and now they are the party with the majority in the new Parliament) has introduced some new bills in the Egyptian Parliament to improve the lives of the people..

Most of the new laws deal with women's rights, like not allowing them to attend school and lowering the legal age of marriage to 14. But my favorite is one that will make it legal for a man to have sex with his wife, for up to six hours following her death..... The reason, of course, is that a man's marital rights do not stop just because the woman dies.

Yeah, I know, but it's true. You can not make this stuff up.

With the new elected representatives in the Egyptian Parliament capable of such searing logic and brave enough to tackle such pressing issues -well I have no idea why we thought things could turn out badly for Egypt.

Still planning a visit to see the Pyramids? Well, better do it soon. Islamic radicals do not like symbols of other religions and those big guys sitting in the middle of their dessert must really irk them.... They'll probably throw a giant burka over them one day and you'll miss your chance.

Live Long and Prosper...
