Why the Right Wing Doesn’t Like the Left Wing

Washington has been locked in bitter fight between right and left, between conservative and liberal, that has virtually stopped Congress from making any real progress on the important issues for years now. This isn’t something particularly new. There has always been a lot of fighting between different factions in Washington –right from the very beginning. But lately it has gotten much worse.

Why is that? Why do to the two sides dislike and distrust each other so much, especially lately? When you boil it down, they are both after the same things –more jobs, a better economy, -prosperity for all…. So, what is it that keeps them so at odds they can’t get a reasonable compromise on some of the important things? Is it lust for power? Greed? A genuine fear that the other side’s policies will destroy the country?

There may be some of all that in play –but I think there is something else. Something deep that causes not only resentment but distrust. Something buried deep inside, out of consciousness that constantly pulls –like a pebble in your shoe just big enough to bug you without your being that aware of it.

A friend of mine forwarded me this poem the other day (thank you, Margaret) and when I read it –I suddenly realized what it was that made me distrust “liberals” and the current administration in particular. Read it and see if you understand what I am driving at….

THE BATTLING BOYS OF BENGHAZI

We're the battling boys of Benghazi
No fame, no glory, no paparazzi.
Just a fiery death in a blazing hell
Defending our country we loved so well.
It wasn't our job, but we answered the call,
fought to the Consulate and scaled the wall.
We pulled twenty Countrymen from the jaws of fate
Led them to safety, and stood at the gate.
Just the two of us, and foes by the score,
But we stood fast to bar the door.
Three calls for reinforcement, but all were denied,
So we fought, and we fought, and we fought 'til we died.
We gave our all for our Uncle Sam,
But Barack Obama didn't give a damn.
Just two dead seals who carried the load
No thanks to us.........we were just "Bumps In The Road".

Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don't say.
