My Next Murder Mystery

I am very happy to report that the first responses to my latest effort at murder, "The Mardi Gras Death Mask", have been very favorable –thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

I have had several of you writing to ask two questions “Are you going to bring Gator back with another murder to solve down in New Orleans?” and, if so, “When?”

I hope you'll be happy to hear that I have just finished the first draft of Chapter One of Gator’s next little adventure. It's called  “A Penalty in Blood”.

It starts with Gator being assigned a case where the body of a prominent citizen (and big political donor) is found dead in his home with all the windows and doors closed and locked. While Gator and Alisha are busy trying to solve that one, a friend of Gator’s is arrested for another murder and Gator doesn’t think he committed it.

The investigation will lead them into the darker side of the French Quarter and through the dangerous and seedy world of Mafia Protection Rackets. More will have to die before the case is solved. Will one of them be Gator or one of his team? And will Severina, Gator's old Voodoo God Mother, be around to help him with a warning and a clue?

The working cover -like it?
I don’t know. I guess we’ll have to wait together and see where the story leads. Look for it sometime next summer.

In the meanwhile, y’all settle back, pour yourself a little drink, put on some good Blues music, and get yourself a big helping of Jambalaya and a nice hot piece of Pecan Pie. Then, as we say in The Big Easy, "let the good times roll'!

-And y'all take good care of yourself, hear?
