Another day, another problem...

Sitting here this morning trying to come up with something clever and interesting to blog about, it occurred to me that we have a lot of little problems all the time -and we actually do a pretty damned good job overcoming the vast majority of them.

Take my morning for example. It started with a problem. The alarm went off, interrupting a nice dream and calling me into reality before I was ready. Problem: Do I hit the snooze button and try to recapture a little of that dream, or just get my butt up and face the day head-on? A third option briefly flashed through my mind -taking a gun and shooting the alarm clock! But no, then I'd just have to clean up the mess, explain the shot to the neighbors and go buy another clock....

Well, you get the point. We are faced with little choices continually, The only ones we remember are the ones we have trouble solving -like where to hide the body....

The reason I mention all this is that I think it is time we gave ourselves a little pat on the back. We do a damn good job resolving our little challenges every day.  We are so good at it in fact that we don't even notice how fast we do it. Shower or bath? The red shirt or the green shirt? Coffee, juice or both? Newspaper or TV? Do I need groceries? Should I make a list? Where is the paper? Where is the pen? Where are the keys? Vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, wine or beer (some problems require a little more thought)?

You see what I mean? You face and decide hundreds of challenges every day and you never knew how good a problem solver you really are!

Now give yourself a great big pat on the back! (And I will go face making that choice of alcoholic beverage to reward myself with)

--and congratulate myself for keeping you from realizing how I solved the problem of what to blog about today....

This guy's going to have to try harder...

Have a great day and until next time...

I do, there is no try (of course, sometimes I do badly, but I do) :-)
